The Hawthorns

The town is well served with schools, sports and leisure facilities and local transport. 

The Hawthorns is a specialist home for up to three children aged 8-17, of any gender (dependent on matching) who have emotional and/or behavioural difficulties.  

The well-trained team create a caring, secure, warm and homely environment.  Their practice is based on the Positive Behaviour Support model and their consistent therapeutic support helps young people achieve a better quality of life.  

In its latest Ofsted report (February 2023) the inspector said for some children, progress has been significant and this has resulted in positive changes to their lives.
